High-end burgers, hand-pulled noodles, a whole lotta chefs tables and the city’s first Filipino fine-dining venue were among the Orlando food stories of 2022 as the hospitality industry navigated a post-COVID world where staffing and the cost of doing business persisted among the top challenges for restaurants to meet.

As past Readers’ Choice selections have garnered some vocal opposition on some of the social-media forums, we’d like to remind you that it’s YOU who decides who lives and dies in the Game of Foodies.
Armed with your love of all things local — and devotion to the process — you can vote for your favorites every day in 50 categories, helping decide which pizza joints, taco stands, food trucks and fine-dining venues will win the Readers’ Choice awards.

Your nods mean everything to the folks working hard on the line, behind the bar and out front to be noticed for their efforts. In a delicate climate, a win can spark a real impact on a business’ bottom line.
They might even be the difference between your favorite place flourishing or folding.
And your votes mean just as much to your fellow locals and Orlando visitors who count on your intel for their choices when dining out, which is a real luxury for many people these days. Let’s give them a list they can love all year long.
The top three restaurants in each category — those with the most nominations — have moved onto the voting round, which will open until 11:59 p.m. on Feb. 16.
Award winners will be announced online and in the Orlando Sentinel’s Calendar section on Feb. 24.
Vote for your favorites once a day (make your picks at orlandosentinel.secondstreetapp.com/2023-Foodie-Awards/gallery).
